These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to use of this website and all cleaning services provided by The Clean Place | an t-àite glan (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By using our website or booking a service, you agree to these Terms.
Nothing here affects your statutory rights under UK law.
1. Website Terms of Use
1.1 Fair Use
You may use our website for lawful purposes only. Any attempt to misuse the site, gain unauthorised access, or distribute misleading or harmful material is prohibited.
1.2 Intellectual Property
All text, images, and design materials are owned by The Clean Place unless otherwise credited. You may not reproduce or redistribute site content without permission.
1.3 Accuracy of Information
We aim to keep all details current and correct, but cannot guarantee completeness or suitability for every purpose.
1.4 External Links
Any external links are provided for convenience only. We are not responsible for the content or policies of third-party sites.
1.5 Privacy
We respect your privacy. Personal data provided through our website or booking forms is handled in line with UK GDPR and used only for communication and service delivery.
2. Booking & Payment Terms
2.1 Quotes & Confirmation
All quotes are free and valid for 14 days. A booking is confirmed once a 50% deposit is received. The remaining 50% is due on completion of the agreed work.
2.2 Cancellations & Refunds
The booking deposit is refundable only if cancelled at least 3 days in advance.
Cancellations made within 72 hours of the scheduled date are non-refundable.
Rescheduling may be possible at our discretion this will be treated as a separate booking with new invoice issued.
2.3 Payment Methods
Payments can be made by bank transfer or another secure invoicing system as specified via invoice. Specific methods may vary as systems are updated.
2.4 Travel & Additional Fees
Travel within Edinburgh city boundaries is included. Jobs outside the city may include travel expenses, shown clearly in your quote. If small content removal requires a hire vehicle, this will be quoted separately. For multi-day Deep/ Bereavement cleans, accommodation costs may be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
3. Operational Terms & Conditions
3.1 Access & Utilities
Please ensure:
Safe and reasonable access to the property.
Electricity and running water are available.
Nearby parking is accessible for unloading.
We do not accept bookings for flats above the second floor in walk-up tenements (no lift access).
3.2 Scope of Work
Our service includes full interior deep cleaning with professional products and equipment. Outdoor areas can be included by agreement but exclude landscaping or heavy waste removal. We do not move or dispose of furniture. Professional carpet cleaning can be arranged as an additional service. Property infested with bedbugs or other pests are outwith the scope of our services. Property badly impacted by mould due to structural damp are outwith the scope of our services. Replacement of silicone seals in kitchens and bathrooms can be arranged as an additional service during multi day bookings. Deep clean of ovens can be arranged as an additional service.
3.3 Specialist Standards
All work follows infection-prevention and cross-contamination procedures informed by NHS-level hygiene standards. Our approach combines understanding the science of cleaning with ten years of hands-on training in Facility management and cleaning-operative skills. We use child and pet safe cleaning materials by default, any exceptions will be clearly communicated.
3.4 Insurance & Safety
We hold full public and employer liability insurance suitable for professional cleaning operations. Clients must disclose potential hazards in advance and maintain a safe working environment.
3.5 Liability Limits
While all reasonable care is taken, we are not liable for:
Pre-existing damage or wear.
Loss or damage caused by faulty fixtures or client-supplied materials.
Cancellation of service provision due to events outside our control (severe weather, illness, transport disruption) will be refunded with a credit note for the booking deposit usable to rebook for another suitable date. Liability is limited to replacement of the value of the booking deposit to its existing value. If rebooking is not possible we will refund the booking deposit in full.
3.6 Complaints & Re-cleans
Please report any issue within 48 hours of service completion. Where justified, a top up clean or fair resolution will be offered. Refunds are considered only if a top up clean is not feasible.
3.7 Conduct & Safety of Staff
We reserve the right to withdraw from a site immediately if staff feel unsafe or are subject to inappropriate behaviour. Any criminal harassment behaviour towards staff will be reported to the police immediately. No refund will be issued in such cases.
3.8 Marketing Content
No identifying or private photography or video will be taken or shared from your property. If we would like to feature an image or short video for marketing purposes, we will always contact you first and provide a content release form for your review and written consent. No content from your property will ever be used without your explicit permission.
4. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes will be handled under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
